Preview of the New Book

Thanks to all that played along on my last post.  I  wasn’t so sure how to handle the tagged thing – but I see offering the new book in trade worked!  The first five to comment – and therefore the winners are:

Sheri, Ginger, Kari, Gina, and Vickie.  If you haven’t already sent me your shipping address – please send it to:  hmulder@wecnet.com

For those of you who didn’t win, but would like to check out what else is in the  book – Here’s a preview!

The name of the  book is Stop, Drop and Roll.  Here’s what it’s all about – (an excerpt from my opening paragraph)

Has life gotten a bit too stressful and busy?  Well, STOP, worrying, DROP what you are doing, grab a Jelly ROLL and get busy sewing!  You’ll soon get caught up in all the fun and forget about what’s on the news.  Plus, you’ll have a project completed in no time!  Don’t have a Jelly Roll?  Don’t worry – I’ve got you covered.  I’ve included fabric requirements for other precuts as well, including fat quarters.

Here’s the cover again.

ank2029120front

The cover quilt is called “Center of Attention”.  Most of the fabric is from Heather Bailey’s Fresh Cut and Pop Garden lines.  This quilt combines my “current” favorite things – 2 1/2″ strips, fusible machine applique, and a large scale print.

If you just have to have that little flower on something, and don’t have room for a quilt this size – How about my “Baby Bloomer”?  The fabrics are from Patisserie by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda

dsc_3550-adj

Next up is my “All Wrapped Up” quilt, using the fabric line Soiree by Lila Tueller for Moda.  I love the fresh colors she used for this line.  I added the brown dot from my Cottage Charm line.

dsc_3991-adj-best

I’ve included a simple version of this pattern also – featuring Aviary by 3 Sisters for Moda.

dsc_3010-adj

“Chain Reaction” – Done up in Objects of Desire by Sandy Gervais and featuring my nieces Isabella and Addilyn.

dsc_3588-adj3-best

I’ve got size options for this pattern  – including the next photo showing the throw size done up in my Rebel Roses line from Henry Glass.

dsc_3456-adj-crop-light

“Buttercup” – featuring Sweet by Urban Chicks for Moda

dsc_3912-adj-best

I didn’t have room in the book for this shot, but I wanted to share it anyway.  Isabella came up with this pose on her own – in fact, she was quite a natural at directing the photo shoot!

dsc_3439_ak

I’ve also done up a couple runners in this pattern.  I can’t seem to stop with the options!  There are just too many possibilities . . . . This one has applique and features the line Swanky by Chez Moi for Moda.

dsc_3889-adj

Here’s the option for those of you who don’t do the A-word – featuring the fabric line Neptune by Tula Pink for Moda.

dsc_3230-adj-fav

And, last up – my “Gettin’ Ziggy With It” quilt, featuring the line Wonderland by MoMo; a new designer from Moda.  The little boy is Gavin, Isabella’s brother.

dsc_3500_ak

Can you believe that is all in one little book?  I was so happy to have fit it all in – though there are always a few quilts that don’t make the cut.  Anyway, I hope you like what I’ve been so busy working on.  Please drop me a note to let me know which quilt is your favorite.  All comments will be entered into a drawing for a copy of the new book – so don’t forget to comment!

I’ve got another book and pattern to preview – so check in on Saturday for a post on the next book and a chance at another give-away!

PS – Special thanks to my brother and sister for lending my the props cute kids!  Also, a HUGE thanks to Lissa at Moda for the great fabrics!

I especially like when you show your quilts in a couple of different colorways. Sometimes I think I’m looking at two different patterns before I realize that it’s just the rearranging of the light or dark fabrics that can change the look. It makes me re-think the fabrics I end up choosing and the look I hope to achieve.
