Wildflower Winners

I hope you all had a good Christmas.  We have several days in a row of snow and storms over Christmas.  Luckily, the storms weren’t that bad here, so we made it to all of our Christmas celebrations.  If the wind had picked up and if the temperature had dropped, we would have had a huge blizzard and it would have been a different story!  It truly was a Winter Wonderland!

All that white had me craving some color . . .

This is what the winner of give-away from my last post is getting!

Katie from www.thetoproomcreations.blogspot.com is the randomly chosen winner!

Katie, please e-mail me at hmulder@wecnet.com, to leave me your shipping address.

I finally finished up my Figgy Pudding quilt, just a day before Christmas.  I started working on it at a retreat earlier in the month.  Here I have it laid out on the sitting room floor at the home where we stayed.

Hi Marcia!

Doesn’t it match this room perfectly?

and isn’t this room beautiful?

I ended up changing the applique, as you can see here.

It’s now hanging in my front entry, though I think it looked better in Marcia’s sitting room!

Even though I love to change my paint colors, I just can’t justify painting my entry over a seasonal quilt. . . .

Just in case you are wondering where to find this pattern, it’s in my book Livin’ Large.

Here’s the original quilt-

I just changed the applique, changed the fabric and added borders.  It looks like a completely different quilt!

I also finished up two table runners from my On the Run book.

The first one is Fresh Blooms, made from Hushabye fabrics.

This next one is called Sweet Escape, and uses fabrics from the Rebel Roses line I designed with my Mom.

This one is really quick and only takes 16 charm squares.

  That’s all for now!

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year.  Thanks to everyone for taking the time to stop by my blog in the last year.  I appreciate all your comments on the quilting, or whatever it is that I  am blogging about.  I have lots of new things coming for next year, so I hope you will continue to stop by!   Several of the new things will be revealed already in January, so I can’t wait!!!!

I love the quilt in your entryway! How do you hang your quilts on the wall? It looks like a normal curtain rod but what kind of hardware do you use to hang it?

I’m a first time visitor and really enjoyed your post. I just found your Sizzlin Sixties book and loved it so much I wanted to let you know. When I saw it online I thought there is no way I could ever make this amazing quilt, than I found the book in the store and was able to see the directions and was AMAZED at how easy and fun (!) it would be to sew! Can’t wait to dig in and start making one over my vacation this week! Thank you for your amazing gifts and talents and sharing them with all of us!

Heather I was so pleased to see you post pictures of another way you worked your Pretty In Pink quilt! It is just gorgeous!!! Your pattern was so easy to follow and produced a quilt I am very happy with!!! I posted pictures and gave links and credit to you and Bonnie and Camille here: http://bugzmommy.blogspot.com/2010/01/pretty-in-pink-quiltcottage-style.html
