Welcome to Day 6 of the Fall-O-Ween Blog Hop. Today is my day to share a project with you. If we haven’t met before, I design under the name Anka’s Treasures. Anka was my Great Grandma and you can read more about her (and me) here . I’ve been designing quilts for 14 years now and you can see some of them here.
I also design fabric for Henry Glass and Co. In fact, my design director said I could share a sneak peek of my next line, coming out this winter. It’s called Artful Home.
Blah, Blah, Blah – Enough about me! Onto the free project!
On our last blog hop, I shared a little Christmas wool mat, so this time I am sharing a fall penny mat.
It’s very easy to make and you only have to know how to do two stitches – the blanket stitch and the back-stitch for the little stem.
It’s only about 8″, so it’s a perfect little take along project. I hope you like it!
You can print the pattern by clicking here: Fall Penny Matt for 2010 Fall Blog Hop.
Our topic of the day is fall decorations. I’m afraid I’m not too creative when it comes to fall decorating. It’s really hard to compete with what’s happening outside in Minnesota anyway! I do have a few favorite things that get set out every year, (along with a few fall quilts, which I will share later in the blog hop)
A wreath for the front door ~
Candle with fall floral candle ring ~
A happy jack-o-lantern ~
A fall garland with some colorful friends ~
Some gourds ~
And Japanese Lanterns ~
And anything else with orange!
Don’t forget to visit the other designers on the hop ~

Thank you for the wool project. It is a favorite technique. It would be fun to make some for a few fall birthdays. We’ll see!
This was fun! Thanks for the pattern. The colors are just so rich and inviting.
Thanks, Heather, for the very adorable wool mat pattern. Definitely on the to-do list.
What a cute little project! I’m just tickled that some of the designers have used wool in their projects. Thank you!
Love this little project! I am new to wool applique and will enjoy it very much! Thanks!
I am having so much fun working on this little mat…it is so cute! I have a couple of November birthday girls…I think I need to make a couple more for gifts.
I don’t know if I told you before but I just love that pattern for the Fall-O-Ween. My grandaughter wanted to take it home with her and she is only three. She loved those textures I guess
