Fall-O-Ween Winners

Today we get to announce the winners from our Fall-O-Ween blog hop.  We have some great prizes.  Three winners were randomly selected, all of which had to comment on each of the blogs during the hop.  The winners are:

Jane of  Sew Create It at http://janeweston.blogspot.com/

To claim your prizes, contact our blog hop creator, Gudrun.  Thanks to everyone who participated!

Nothing too exciting happening in my little corner of the world, but I kind of like it that way.  From my little corner of MN, you can see that fall is showing off.

It’s a little hard to sit here at the computer when fall is at it’s peak outside.

There, that’s better.  I’m out for a walk with our dog Daisy.   Our driveway is very pretty in the fall, as you can see.

It’s been so beautiful all weekend.  Mom was here sewing, so we went on several walks – not only to enjoy the weather, but to give our sewing legs and back a stretch!

This is one of my favorite fall trees, though it happens to be on our neighbor’s propery.

Every so often I “borrow” the neighbor’s tree to show off a quilt.  Here’s a shot of one that I got borders on this weekend.

The pattern is Square Dance, from my book Livin’ Large.  The fabric is Fundago, by Kate Spain

Aren’t these fabrics just gorgeous?  They were so pretty, I just couldn’t bring myself to cut them up too much.  The patterns from my Livin’ Large book were designed with these beautiful large-scale prints in mind!

Now, I just have to get it quilted and I’m waiting for the binding fabric to arrive from www.fatquartershop.com.  I’ll show it again, after I get it quilted.

Mom and I also took a break from quilting to enjoy this ~

Looks like we weren’t the only ones trying to take advantage of these last fall days!

Good night . . . . good weekend.

too bad I didn’t get to win… but it was fun bloghoppping.. and these pics are gorgeous, fall is such a pretty season, crisp cold and warm colors, a contrast in itself! and love you fabrics!

  2. Kim G says:

Love your pictures, but love that quilt with Fandago, I have a layer cake, but wasn’t sure what pattern I wanted to use with it. I think this is it, now I have to find the book it came out of!!

Not surprised I didn’t win and I loved the blog-hop. You gals have so much talent and seem so nice and fun. I’d love to have you as neighbors!

I noticed the winners all had websites and wonder how many “hoppers” were just ordinary folk like me and how many were professionals or semi-professionals…

Thanks for the freebies and the eye candy and sentiments.

I was wondering that too, seeing the 3 winners all have Blogs ???

I thought I missed something in the rules, that you had to have your own Blog to enter ?
Doesn’t really seem fair if ALL the prizes were won by professional bloggers, does it ??

I’m just a regular quilter of 20 yrs who LOVES quilts & all things quilting but time and work haven’t allowed me to try a bloy yet … maybe someday soon (& if my daughters help me !!!)

  7. A Betty says:

  8. Jocelyn says:

  10. Sherri says:

  11. aggiequilter says:

Love the photos and the quilt top is Yummy !!

Guess I need to join the world of Professional Blogging – seeing that the 3 winners all have their own websites and blogs … ???

FallOWeen was fun anyway, thanks for all the seasonal inspiration !

    • I see several of the commenters are wondering about why all three winners have blogs – It’s just a coincidence. There were about a dozen names randomly drawn, including quite a few without blogs. The three that won were the only ones that commented on all the blogs, which was a requirement to be eligible for the prizes. Having your own blog was not a requirement. I think people who have blogs typically are more active on the blogs that they are readying and tend to comment more.

So enjoyed the hop! Thanks again. Love all your photos today. This is a beautiful fall so far. HUGS… and stitches

Love your fall photos. Also love the quilt. I need to make one now. I really like Kate Spain fabrics too, I used “Verna” in my granddaughters quilt. It is so cute.

  14. Thanks for the announcement…I’ve emailed Gudrun :o)

Love your quilt and the way you have photographed it…gorgeous!

  15. Debbie G says:

A little bit of heaven in Minnesota!!

  16. Heather…Your Living Large book is my absolute favorite. All the quilts are easy and fun. I have gotten my most use out of that book of ANY I have ever purchased. I have made the the Live, Laugh, Love several times and donated them for church fundraisers…it’s always the “HOT” item. I’ve made several of the others for graduation presents…Any chance you have another layer cake book, or similar quilt style book hiding in the recesses of your mind?

  17. Mary says:

    I always love your photographs.

Congratulations to the winners! I was last year’s grand prize winner – just wait till your packages arrive. These designers are awesome!!!

  18. Beverly says:

I enjoyed your fall time pictures! Your knitting projects are always beautiful and fit you so nicely.
Also, your latest quilt picture is pretty–I have your “Livin Large” pattern book as well. It is full of nice patterns. Thank you for all your work on the Fall O Ween blog hop….I enjoyed playing along even tho I wasn’t chosen–it was fun learning about new things.
Our colors are just now beginning to change here in central WA. It seems we are a little later than usual. We have not had very many cold nights yet. But they are on their way.
    Have a great week!

p.s. we were married on a Friday the 13th too!!

  19. Laura Hayward says:

I absolutely LOVED the blog hop. I have never done anything like that before. I learned soooo much and feel like I made 10 new friends! In regards to the “professional bloggers” comment–just because you have a blog address, doesn’t mean you are a pro. I started one on a whim when I began my first quilting class–8 WEEKS AGO!. I wanted to do a sort of diary of my first class and first REAL quilt. I am happy to say that I finished it after the 8th class–last night. YAY.

  20. Thank you for sharing these lovely photos! You are lucky to live in such a beautiful place, and I appreciate it that we can enjoy the beauty through your photos.

  21. kate spain says:

    Hi Heather!
Be still my heart!! Your Fandango quilt is breathtaking against the backdrop of those golden leaves of fall. Wow! I’ll have to get my hands on a copy of your “Livin’ Large” book, too. Love love this pattern and actually…i love all your work! Hope your remodel is wrapping-up so you can resume life as normal! hugs, kate
