Today I just want to share a few favorite finds from Quilt Market.
I will start with a couple of products, and then talk mostly about what I love best, fabric!
First, I wanted to mention Hobbs batting. I generally use the Hobbs unbleached 80/20. It has been what I have used for 20 years, but I still learned something new about it. Did you know that it comes in bleached – and more importantly black? Just the other day I was wishing for a black cotton batting and a week later I find that my favorite batting comes in black! I also scored one of their wool battings, which I have been wanting to try for a long time.
Another thing that I wanted to learn about at market was using a double of batting. I had heard about machine quilters using 2 batts in a quilt and I got to feel a couple of them at market. I will say that two battings really does show off the machine quilting, but I do not like how it feels. It’s quite stiff and I imagine that it would be hard to sufficiently cuddle with. If you were hanging the quilt on the wall only, and were a fabulous machine quilter, I can see why it’s done. But for myself, I like to use the quilts and I don’t have fancy quilting to show off, therefore I will continue to do what I have been doing – 1 layer of the Hobbs 80/20 (or sometimes their Polydown). Does anyone else have anything to add about batting? I would love to hear what your favorite type is!
Here’s another little fun thing that I found. Have you noticed that cross stich is making a comeback? I did it in the 80’s and haven’t been tempted to try it since. But look at these cute things from Red Gate Stitchery –
I think it would be great fun to make one of these bracelets, or the necklace below. You can find them here. I thought they were even cuter in person.
One of the books that I found was this one by Indygo Junction. I like how they show one pattern, six different ways by changing up the sleeve, adding an accent fabric, etc.
I also loved their tunic pattern. It was also cuter in person
I plan to make mine out of the aqua fabric in the photo below. It is made by Art Gallery and is such a fun print. The other two fabrics are the new rayons that I saw at market that I wanted to try. These two are designed by Heather Bailey, but I also liked Cotton+Steel’s rayons. (All three were purchased at Hawthorne Threads. If you haven’t ordered from them before, they have a great selections of quilt fabric, knits – even rayons and denim.)
The coral below is some of the double gauze that I saw at market. It has beautiful texture, but my first impression is that it will be wrinkly. I will let you know how my top turns out.
Speaking of tops, here are two that I finished last Friday. Both are knits from Hawthorne threads. I will tell you more about them when I get some better photos.
And lastly, my favorite quilt fabrics from market.
I loved these shot cottons from Studio E. Studio E is owned by the same company as Henry Glass (who I design for). They also are much more beautiful in person.
You can see the beautiful texture a little better in the photo below. I would love to use the darker ones for some sort of block sampler quilt, with a grey background. (Hint – If you like these fabrics too, you should read all the way to the bottom of this post)
And – my favorite part about market – Sample Spree at the Moda table. You can have more fun there in 10 minutes than should be allowed. And as a bonus, what you purchase in that 10 minutes can keep you having fun all year long. How great is that? Below are 3 of the bundles that I liked. Listed from left to right – Canyon by Kate Spain, Hello Darling by Bonnie and Camille, and Tucker Prairie by OneCanoeTwo.
My three favorite bundles are: (again listed from left to right)
Farmhouse by Fig Tree Quilts, Gooseberry by Vanessa Goertzman, and Prairie by Corey Yoder.
Prairie was my favorite of all the lines. I love the cheddar yellow – which I haven’t seen a lot of lately, but loved in this combination of colors. It’s fresh and bright without being too bright. I’m also a little tired of so many pastels, and this is a little darker than that.
And here they are all together. I have never in my life bought so much fabric at once, but this will keep me supplied for my work projects for the next 6 months! Is really fun to know that the perfect fabric is waiting for me in the studio, whenever I have time to sew or a new idea comes to me.
If you would like to share in a little of the fun, I am giving away a fat quarter pack of those beautiful shot cottons – courtesy of Studio E. If you would like to be entered to win, just leave a comment in the comment section.
Stop back in next week to see if you won!
Try the Hobbs 80/20 wool batting – it sews like wool but is a bit lighter and less expensive. Love it!
Wow!!! Live this fabric.. I’m not sure what I could make but I’m sure it would be beautiful!!!!!
Love those solid cottons! They’d be great with prints or nicely stand alone in a quilt!
Always love your posts! Can’t wait your your post about your cute tops.
Quilt Market sounds like so much fun! Wish I could get in. I love the texture of shot cottons. They would be perfect for the next project I have planned with black and white and white and black fabrics. I would love to see photos of you wearing those new tops!
Love the Shot Cottons!
Love those new shot cottons! Would love a “shot” at winning.
The bracelets look really interestING I can see them modified into pin cushions
Oh the things I could do with this gorgeous fat quarter bundle! Love love love!
Would love to win!!!
Love those colors! Would sure like to win the bundle! About the batting – I love the wool batting and have been using it for a long time. I have my quilts done by my “long-armed” friend – and the quilts feel like those that are 100 years old – all broken in and snuggly – right from the start! They aren’t heavy and are so warm! I strongly recommend wool batting above all others. One batting I don’t like is Warm and Natural – it’s way too stiff. It’s wonderful for wall hangings (because it’s so stiff) – but not on the bed!
What gorgeous fabric you collected. I also love Hobbs 80/20 but my favorite is the wool. It’s wonderful for hand or machine quilting and soft and warm. Very cuddled! Thanks for the chance to win.
I love the colors of the packets!! Can’t wait to start on a quilt!!
Yes!! Please enter me in winning a “bunch” of them!!
God bless
I am so glad you mentioned the Hobbs 80/20 in black! I have a wall hanging I need black for, and I always have used Hobbs. Hopefully I can find it online at Hawthorne. 🙂 Lovely choices of fabrics. The shot cotton looks beautiful in your picture. Who knew? Thanks for the chance to win.
Fun to see all your apparel sewing… I have been tempted to making something with AMHorner’s new wovens. Thanks for the chance!
Love the texture and all the beautiful colors of the shot cottons.
I’ve used two layers of batt, but it was one layer of cotton and a split layer of hobbs wool batting that you keep on top that gives you a little lift. I can’t wait to hear about the shirts – they look great – I have not sewn clothes for myself but it looks intriguing.
BEAUTIFUL! The colors are so refreshing. Love the shot cottons! Thanks for the great “eye candy”.
You made some great finds at Quilt Market – that’s a lot of fabric! I like the yellow too. Thanks for offering to share. The shot cottons are beautiful.
Love shot cotton. It makes you want to touch it!
So funny….I’ve had an “itch” to stitch clothing again also! I already ordered the tunic pattern and looking forward to using it. I’ve wanted a chance at the shot cottons. Granddaughter will graduate and think they would make a timeless treasure for her. Fingers crossed!
I love your fabric choices. I also agree with you about Hobbs 80/20 batting. It is my “go to” batting in all projects.
Yummy! Would love, love, love to play with these.
Gorgeous colors! Would love to try these out
Shot cottons for me…. great showing
I too use Hobbs 80/20. I use the black quite often, as it seems lately my projects have been dark fabrics. Thank you for a chance at fat quarter pack. We all love more fabric!
Thank you that is very kind to have a giveaway. Love those colours.
Janet
Love those colors! Would love to add these to my beginners stash.
Oh yum, fabric! I’ve always used Hobbs 80/20. It’s readily available and I like it. Would like to try wool also.
Love those colors, Thanks so much for sharing your market experience and thanks for the chance 🙂 !!!!
when I quilt something that has alot of detail such as a table topper I use 2 layers of hobbs 80/20 so that it shows all of the detail. All of the rest get one thickness of batting even the wool. would love to win the fat quarter bundle, they are great colors and fabric. So glad you enjoyed quilt market
Love the shot cotton. The colors are beautiful. I am back into garment sewing which I haven’t done in a long while. I am in love with the Prairie fabric and plan to make something fun with it.
I’m drooling over your fabric choices. That shot cotton is new to me….so beautiful!
O my! That’d be a dream to come home with 6 bundles of yummy new fabric! Like Christmas! I love it. I’d love a chance to win the fat quarters of fabric….
Would LOVE to have 10 minutes at Sample Spree! There are so many great collections on the horizon…Love these shot cottons – I have been collecting cross weaves and shot cottons over the last year and would love to add these to my stash. There will be a tremendous quilt from that collection eventually!
I would love to have that bundle of shot cotton. The texture looks amazing!
Thank you, Heather, for sharing your favorites from quilt market. I agree that Prairie is a very nice line of fabric.
Pretty bundle and I would love to win it, and thank you for such a generous give away. I also think “Prairie” by Corey Yoder is a gorgeous line of fabric, and it is on my wish list.
I too have started leaning towards the bright colors! Until recently most of my quilts are shades of beige, green and reds!
Thank you for the opportunity to win those fabulous shot cottons! I first saw them in Australia and have used them in one quilt so far but am dreaming of the next project with them! Thanks for all your great photos and inspiration
Love the colors…they would make beautiful applique blocks. Flowers and birds I think.
I have always used Hobbs batting. For years and years. Love it. I used the 80/20 as well. Nice to know they offer black. This fat quarter is very nice. Love the colors. Thank you for the offer to possibly win this.
Nice haul at Sample Spree. I have had my eye on the Shot Cottons for awhile. Love the look and feel of them.

I have so many prints and not enough of solids for them and this would take care of my solid shortage… Hope they find their way to my home. 😉
Love the shot cotton, too. And I will always love your quilting, fabrics, knitting, and your wonderful little guys.
Those luscious fabrics make you want to reach out and pet them.
LOVE the tops you made. Very cute patterns and fabrics! Would love for you to model them, pretty please???!!!
What a beautiful stack of fabrics – thanks so much for the chance to win! Love the fabric stacks you got too!
OH MY! I love those fabrics. Thank you so much for a chance to win them!
Love the colors from Studio E. You found great fat quarter bundles.
Love the new fabrics!
Beautiful fabrics! I can’t wait to see the beautiful quilts you make out of them! pam
What fabulous new fabrics, I wold have a hard tme picking my favorite. Love the colors of the shot cottons. Thanks for the giveaway1
These fabrics make me want to sew apparel!
Regarding batting, I have used wool in two custom quilts, and it is really an amazing batting. It ends up fuller than cotton, yet still really soft and drapey. I washed both of the quilts before sending them off, and they washed superbly. I used Quilter’s Dream Wool, as well as Hobbs Wool. Wool also has the benefit of warmth in the winter and cooler in the summer, which might be a good thing where you live with cold winters and warm summers. I plan to use it for all bed quilts I make for my family in the future. I’m glad you discovered it, and I suspect you’ll like it.
Such fun new fabrics! I just might have a couple on pre order…lol. I have always used Quilters Dream. With a 20 yr recommendation I will give Hobbs a try! Thanks for the opportunity to win these beautiful Shot Cotton, such a lovely add in any palette.
Thank you for sharing your favorite finds. It’s like a field trip to quilt market! Thanks for the chance to win.
Such pretty new fabrics, thanks for sharing.
I’d love to win the shot cottons. They are beautiful. Thanks for giving me the opportunity.
I must say I love your taste in fabrics! I recently had a quilt quilted for me in Hobbs 80 wool/20 cotton, and I absolutely loved the way it turned out. Very soft and drapey. Thanks for the chance to win that luscious bundle of fabrics!
I lOve what you’ve shown. I made a quilt with shot cottons and loved it. my daughter was more than pleased with it! love to make another.
Would love to win– oh my gosh! Thank you! (welchrobin@hotmail.com)
Love all the new fabrics!
You picked some wonderful bundles of fabrics for your future projects. Love the shot cotton bundle.
Thanks for sharing your quilt market experience. Sometimes I think I should become a business owner just so I can go to market! Every single one of those bundles looks yummy! Nice picks!
Glad to hear there’s a black cotton batting now. Good to know. And what beautiful fabric bundles! I would just have to sit and look at them for a while to appreciate their colorful beauty. Thanks for the chance to win – shot cottons are beautiful to look at and work with.
I have been really wanting to do a quilt using solids & this would be perfect! Love all the bundles you picked, too.
My goodness! The shot cottons are literally making my mouth water! What gorgeous colors!
The shot cottons are gorgeous! I’ve heard of them but not seen them – WOW! Thanks for sharing your market finds and the giveaway!
I love these solids!! But especially love the FQ bundles….Prairie is my favorite!
The shot cottons are beautiful. I have not yet seen them in person. They would really add to a project.
Would love those shoot cottons. I usually use Quilters Dream batting, but maybe I will have to give Hobbs a try. Love all your FQ bundles, I have to agree on Prairie. It is a gorgeous line.
Love all your fabric bundles! It’s always hard for me to break up pretty fabric bundles like those. ☺ I can’t wait to see what you do with them. And I’m with you on the batting-I’m almost exclusively a one layer 80/20 Hobbs girl too, but I don’t do any heirloom-type quilting. Thanks for sharing!
I have used two layers of batting…warm and natural with quilters dream wool. It is a heavy and very warm winter quilt. I have not had much success with hobbs packaged batting. I was finding many bare spots. I switched to Quilters Dream for that reason but I do use 80/20 heirloom on the 30 yd roll for donation quilts because the organization supplies it and it does quilt up beautifully.
How generous of you and Studio E to share such a lovely bundle of happiness with us! What a gorgeous rainbow.
What fun it must be to attend Sample Spree! You have a beautiful assortment of fabrics there. I’m so looking forward to seeing what you will make with them.
Have always used Dream Poly as I quilt mostly for children. Will have to give Hobbs a try for my own use. LOVE the shot cottons. Have been dreaming about a quilt using solid colors for a while now. Thanks for letting me enter your giveaway.
Wow! I love all your fabrics!! Gorgeous! And the colors in the shot cottons are so vibrant. Thanks for the chance!
Solids are something I am sadly lacking in my stash. I would love to win these. Thanks for a great giveaway!
I look so forward to your emails. Can’t wait to find out about the tops you made. Also thanks for the give away!
Yes, please! I’m running out of fabric. Ha!
Those solids are absolutely stunning! Thanks for the chance to win.
Thanks for the giveaway! I love shot cottons. Loved seeing your favorites from market too.
Wow! What a great fabric haul. So many great lines coming out. Those shot cottons look beautiful and would add great dimensionality to any quilt. Thanks for the chance to win!
Love all you purchased at Quilt Market. Can’t wait to see photos of the tops you are going to make and also to see you in the knit ones. Those turned out really cute. Thanks for the chance at the giveaway.
It’s fun to read/see the posts on Quilt Market, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your trip to market with us! These fabrics are beautiful and the colors are so fresh!
I did not know there was black batting, thank you for sharing that tid-bit with us. I cannot wait to read/see more on your garment sewing. I always think I should try, but I’m too chicken. Thanks so much for sharing.
It’s all so beautiful. I love the shot cottons. Thanks for the tip about Hawthorne Threads. I’ve received their e-mails for quite some time. I’ve never ordered from them, though. I may have to give that a try since I can’t seem to find clothing fabric in my area. I’ll be waiting to hear how you feel about the fabric you used for your tops after you’ve worn them a while.
Sample spree sounds like so much fun — and also so dangerous for the budget! I love your selections. Thanks for offering such a lovely giveaway, I would love to try shot cottons.
Nothing better than solids!
Wow. What beautiful colors.
The shot cottons are so beautiful!
I love using the Hobbs poly down for my bigger bed quilts. They are so warm but not so heavy.
Would love to see your smiling presence in those tops. All the fabrics bundles are inspiring. Enjoy the sun, Heather.
Love the fabric. AMS
You scored some beautiful fabrics!!! It will be fun to see what you create with them. I have used a double bat twice on wall hangings only. Yes it makes the quilting really stand out but you are correct they are not a cuddly quilt at all. I used hobbs 80/20 with a wool on one, the other I used the 80/20 with a layer of 4 oz polyster, love the detail it gave so it has it uses. If you want to see my projects you can see them here http://knitbug2.blogspot.com/2015/05/spring-bloggers-quilt-festival-2015.html and http://knitbug2.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-lovely-year-of-finishes-2015-feb-goal.html
I love shot cottons and use them a lot lately. They add so much texture.
Love Love love those fabrics.
You have great taste in fabric! I would love to try shot citations, thanks!
Beautiful fabric. Thanks for the chance to win.
As for batting, I am using more wool. I will use in my next bed quilt (top is done, just waiting). I suggest than you look into Winline batting.
You really scored on some great fabrics! Love the textured solids. Thanks for the chance at winning.
Sounds like you really enjoyed market. Thanks for sharing!!
Beautiful fabrics. Would love to win. Thanks for the offer.
Lynne
I have been eyeing the prairie fabrics already, also. Love the greys and yellows.
I love all of those fabric! So jealous… Market looks like soon much fun.
Such wonderful fabrics. Gooseberry and Tucker Prairie are on my ‘to buy’ list but as yet I don’t know what I will do with them. I’ll watch your blog for suggestions.
I am so glad to see that you do garment construction. That is how I started sewing.
I too use 80/20 batting for the majority of my quilts. I’ve used 100% polyester for some denim quilts that I have tied. I also have some 100% cotton batting that I use for making microwave potato bags since I don’t want them to start a fire in the microwave. 🙂 The shot fabrics look soft and cuddly and I love all the colors!
Wow what beautifully rich colors love them. I have used Quilters Dream batting but will have to try the Hobbs. Thanks for the chance to win.
All that fabric you brought home from market looks like heaven. I would leave them around the house to just look at for a while! My husband once told me fat quarter bundles are not decor, I beg to differ!
After looking at all those beautiful lines of fabric, WHO COULD CHOOSE JUST ONE!! They are all beautiful!! I’d have to have one of each! As always, your taste in fabric is very eye catching!! I can’t wait to see what you make out of those lines!! Thank you Heather for giving us the chance to win!! I’ve shopped at Hawthorne Threads too! They are very good to work with you!! So many nice shop owners out there! Have a great day!! 😊
Beautiful bundle choices. Quilt market sounds fun.
Oh my. All that fabric has my heart racing. So much fun. And a chance to win some! Too cool. Thanks. 😉
oh! those shot cottons would be PERFECT for my next project, which involves framed hexagons! Those colors and texture would be absolutely divine!
Just got back from Millie’s Quilt Shop in Anoka. Such a nice store. Can’t imagine how many choices I would have at Quilt Market! Love the solids so much.
Oh my, you bought some pretty fabrics. I don’t think I could choose from the prints. The shot cottons have such gorgeous texture and subtle colors woven in. I’m sure they feel as good as they look. Please post what you make with them!
What a treat it would be to have those stacks!! I love all the quilt market eye candy!!
love them all! How fun to have fat quarter bundles on hand !
Thanks for the chance to win this beautiful bundle. I’m looking forward to seeing that Tucker Prairie fabric when it comes out!
I have used Hobbs 80/20 cotton blend for years. I still love it the best! Great selection of fabrics to play with.
Love all the fabrics you bought! So tell me are they fat quarter bundles or 1/2 bundles? Would love to win!!!
I love all the fabrics you bought just makes me want to sew all day long.

Those shot cottons are so lovely! And so are all the other fabrics you shared with us today. Looking forward to seeing your creations using those. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
Beautiful fabrics and I enjoyed your comments on batting. Those shot cottons are yuuuuummy!!! I like your new purchases from Hawthorne, too.
You made some wonderful, happy choices at Sample Spree. I would love to have those bundles sitting on the shelf in my sewing room. They look at first glance that they will play well together too. I would like to do a modern sampler with the those shot cottons, a change from the ones I have seen with plain solids.
Thanks for sharing some of your favorites from Market. I love the Urban Tunic pattern and will have to make one for myself!
Love the new fabrics! Can’t wait to see them at my favorite quilt shop.
What a beautiful rainbow of colors in the shot cottons! Thanks for the giveaway!
Beautiful colors in the shot cottons. I also really like the tunic pattern.
Isn’t collecting fabric fun!!!!
Love the colors and would love to win them! They would be beautiful in a quilt!
These are beautiful! I just pre-ordered the Prairie fat quarter pack based on a picture so am glad to hear it was one of your favorites. And I love the textured solids. So much fun!
These cotton solids are beautiful! That would look fantastic in the “Bring Me Flowers” quilt I have just started-the pattern is by Jen Kingwell. Thanks for the chance to win
Very interesting. I love to see new takes on fabrics we are used to. Texture. I wonder what will come next in fabrics. Cotton jacquards for quilting?
Love the fat quarters — every quilter’s dream! Can you share the patterns that you used for the tunic tops? Very cute.
Quilt Market sounds like a lot of fun. Almost worth opening a shop for. Thanks for the giveaway.
As usual, you’ve given us a beautiful and informative critique of market. I love that cheddar fabric too, btw.
Great finds and great giveaway! Thanks for the chance!
What a wonderful prize! Hope I win!
Thanks for the chance to win, and sharing your “favs” from Quilt Market!
Love the gorgeous colours in the shot cotton pack. I will definitely be checking if Hobbs is available in Australia.
I use 80/20 for the majority of my quilts but I do use polydown for kid’s quilts and some other charity quilts… easier to wash and faster to dry. Love these fabrics and want to reach out and fondle your bundles. Thanks for the chance to win.
Love the Shot Cottons! Amazing texture and would make a beautiful quilt. I have really had my eye on Prairie by Corey Yoder as well. Beautiful!
oh i would love to win! i am so new to quilting—-i went to my first show this year. a very small local one but oh what fun! i can imagine a quilt market with new things everywhere must be mind blowing!!!! looking at all the pretty pictures of so many pretty new lines coming out……………..what fun to see it all in person!!!!! rest assured, that fabric will be well loved, well petted, admired lovingly, then cut into little pieces and sewn back together into something to bring warmth and joy to someone else! i just love everything about quilting!!! can you tell

Absolutely glorious – love those shot cottons so much.
I look forward to reading your posts. I like to use Warm and Natural batting. I don’t prewash my fabric, so, after the quilt is washed the first time, it has a lovely older look. Can’t wait to see your latest projects!
I love the beautiful colors of the Fatquarter packs that you brought home. Will be fun to see how you create with them. Thanks for the chance to win some.
Love the shot cottons. Great colors. Yummy!
I would so love to win those pretty shot cottons–wow—I love all the fabric bundles…..I might have to have one of those cross stitch bracelets….or a blank to make my own…..
ThoSe shot cottons would just add that extra something to the solids in a quilt. I think they’d be great!
The shot cottons are beautiful – I can see reaching for them time and again !
It would be such a blessing to be able to work with those absolutely beautiful fabrics.
Oh my gosh, the colors of those fabrics are so beautiful that I think it would be difficult to break apart that bundle. Regarding batting, I think my favorite is any Quilter’s Dream product, because they are so easy to use and drape so nicely. Recently, I attended a class taught by Sue Nickels, who said that she uses Hobbs, so I’ve bought a little of that to give it a try. Depending on the quilt I make and how it will be used, I will choose either 100% cotton, 80/20 blend, wool, or once in awhile, an all poly batt. I don’t care for the name brand batting sold at the big box store, as I think it is stiff.
I’m glad you had fun at Quilt Market!
I am just stepping into the world of machine quilting and would love to win that shot cotton!
OH!! The fabrics are lovely – you are one lucky duck to have purchased so many pretty collections – will look forward to your creations!! I would love to create my own little lap quilt with the collection you have up for giveaway 🙂
I just love the shade of the colors I can think of so many things I could do with them.
Thanks for the information on batting and also for the chance to win the shot cotton bundle
I love the colors of that giveaway bundle and the texture. So pretty and different!
I love the shot cottons–they have a luster that other solids don’t have!
I just used the Hobbs black batt in a dark quilt and loved it. Love the Shot Cottons too–they have always been a favorite.
I can hardly wait to see how you use these fabrics! What fun it must be to go to market! I look forward to future posts.
Beautiful colors!!!
Thanks, I won’t be trying double bats.
I already love Hobbs black batting–finishing a dark “wedding” quilt right now using it. I can remember my mom talking about shot cotton–now I understand what gives it that gorgeous look!
Wow…can’t wait to see what you make with all those beautiful bundles!
It would take me a few years to use all that fabric but oh what fun I’d have doing it! Great choices!
Love those fabrics!!
Love those shot cottons!!
Heather I can’t wait to get your new book! I loved the first one so much! Those shot cottons are just beautiful, thanks for the chance to win a set. Fig Tree Quilts new Farmhouse line looks amazing. I can’t wait to see her black prints in person, gorgeous!

I have tried the wool batting in my Christmas quilt! I love the warmth of it in the cold winter months! Love the fabric you picked out!
i would love to try the shot cottons. Beautiful colours.
I use Warm and Natural batting and have been very happy with it. Would love to win the fat quarter!
Very pretty colors.
These shot cottons are delightful, but I like your new line even better 🙂
Love that you’re sewing clothes! After being a quilter for 25 years I would like to get back to clothing construction. I might have to take lessons all over again because of the difference in our modern knits. Your knit tops look great! Wool batting is my #1 choice with Hobbs 80/20 a close second.
Have only read about shot cottons….these look delicious!
I used Hobbs wool batting in a quilt made for our camper. Just love it for its lightness and warmth. love the bundles you chose. Been wanting to try one with darkblues.b
All of the bundles are beautiful
I love being a winner!
The shot cottons are beautiful. I would love to sew with them. My absolute favorite of your fabric purchases is Tucker Prairie by OneCanoeTwo.
Love the textures! Thanks for sharing so we could see!
Love the texture in the studio E fabric, we need to see more of that!
Thanks for the info on double batting, I have heard about it but like you…..I like to have my quilts soft. Would love to win the beautiful shot cottons!
The shot cottons are scrumptious! What beautiful summer colors to make a quilt. Would love to sew with them.
Thanks ever so much for sharing your treasured purchases from Quilt market! There are so many of us who can not attend, but would love to, so thanks for sharing your thoughts and photos, too! Those shot cotton colors and textures are stunning! They will make a gorgeous quilt for sure!!
Market sounds like so much fun but so overwhelming too! Thanks for the chance to win the shot cottons.
Thanks for sharing these with us. So many ideas going through my head as far as what I’d use each of the collections for. (Maybe I should get moving on my UFO’s fast???) lol Absolutely beautiful fabrics, they’d be a wonderful addition to my stash.
Can’t wait to see what you make. I really like the Kate Spain bundle. So many beautiful fabrics. It must be hard to choose!
Would love to try the shot cottons. Beautiful colors!
I love all your fabric choices.
So pretty! Almost look like wools? Look so soft! What exactly does “shot cotton” mean?
Loved the bright colors in the new collections. I will be waiting to see the two tops you made.
The shot cottons are beautiful; I would love to win and have the opportunity to sew a project with the fabric.
What fun you had at quilt market and to think of how much fun you will have when you have a minute to sew away!
I absolutely Love, Love, Love, the fabrics you chose. Thank you so much for sharing.
The shot cottons have a nice texture. Can’t wait to see what you will come up with !!
Don’t know how you find time to do allllll that you do! Can’t wait to see what you make out of the gorgeous fabrics!
sigh, I have such a hard time using fat quarter bundles, they look so pretty when they sit on my sewing table! But they do inspire me, or sometimes they are a pick-me-up when I have had a rough day
Loved seeing photos of the new fabric. Can’t wait to see them in the stores
I would be beyond ecstatic to win those shot cottons…they are gorgeous. This post was fabulous, you have some beautiful fun ahead of you!!! Going to go keep my fingers crossed!
There are certainly some beautiful colours in those fabrics. Thanks for the chance to win.
Thanks for sharing. The cottons look wonderful!
Agree with tiring of pastels. Love the brighter tones.
The shot cottons would make a wonderful addition to my stash!
Gorgeous colors! Thanks for the chance to win.
Those shot cottons are a little piece of heaven !
Such beautiful colors !
Thank you so much for sharing Quilt Market with us .
Would love to win this gorgeous bundle!
Yummy colors all around. The shot cottons are gorgeous. What fun you had at Market.
That rainbow bundle of shot cottons is yummy gorgeous!
Your fabrics from Sample Spree are gorgeous! Would love to win some shot cottons!
I love Studio e fabrics! They have the most wonderful feel to them and wash up wonderfully. I have been looking for the shot cottons around here but haven’t been able to find them. Thank you for the chance to win them!
The shot cottons are absolutely gorgeous but so is the other fat quarter bundles you purchased. What an opportunity to be at Quilt Market. I have enjoyed your posts on Quilt Market. Thanks for the chance to win.
Would love to win those beautiful solids. Here’s hoping. Glad you were able to go to Market this year.
I love those shot cottons! They have such a depth of color you don’t find in plain dyed cottons. Also will be interested to see how the wool batt works out for you. I have heard nothing but praise of wool in quilts!
Fun market post! Thanks for sharing about the cross stitch and your take on batting. What lovely shot cottons!
Lovely fabrics you chose, I like the tops you are making are they your own pattern?
Thank you for the chance to win !
The only thing better than shot cotton would be a bundle of shot. The colors are gorgeous and the texture of shot is wonderful. Enjoy you post, your work and seeing your family.
So many things to pick from at Quilt Market. I would find it so hard to decide a favorite or two. I could have have with some shot cottons. Thankyou for the giveaway
That bundle of fabrics is very pretty, looks like fun colors and great textures. Thanks,
Such pretty fabrics. Would love to make something with them.
Sample spree sounds like so much fun if you have $$$ and can make quick decisions. I can’t decide if the texture or the colors of the shot cotton is prettier.
The color and texture of the fabric bundle is simply beautiful!
I’m already looking forward to seeing what you’ll make with all those pretty bundles!
Thanks for sharing all the beautiful market finds!
Thanks for sharing the results of your shopping spree. Such beautiful fabrics that I know you will create fabulous pieces from. The shot fabrics are very inspiring to me.
Beautiful! I would love to win the fabric bundle. Thanks!!
Quilt market sounds like a fantastic experience…but maybe overwhelming for some of us?!
All kinds of fabric goodness…I can see why you could resist. Love the rich colors of the shot cottons. Thanks for the great giveaway.
You and I liked so many of the same things… 🙂 Great minds, I guess?!?!? 🙂
I also just got one of those leather bracelets in the mail today. Can’t wait to get that baby stitched and on my wrist. 🙂 Thanks for a fun review.
Wow! Looks like you had a great time at the Quilt Market. I love all of those great bundles, the colors are incredible. I would love to win the bundle of beautiful cotton shots from Studio E. The grosgrain ribbon with the e’s is so cute and the colors are great. Your blog is the best! I love watching your boys grow and seeing all of your beautiful quilts, knitting, and sewing. Thank you for being such an inspiration.
I just love these rich colors. Amazing depth!
Love all the fabrics you’ve picked! I’m not a expert about batting but normally I use a thin polyester batting if it’s for deco like tablerunners or pillows and a cotton batting if it’s for a ‘real’ quilt.
How fun!! Those fabrics are great! Looking forward to seeing what you will do with them 🙂
I loved reading about your trip to market! And I cannot believe that cross-stitch is making a comeback!
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I loved reading about your trip also love the fabric you got!
Love those shot cottons!
Well, I LOVE your fabric choices! Those would have been my favorites too, with Farm House being at the top of my list. I have never used wool batting but would love to give it a try. And I really need some of the black batting. I’ve got some dark flannels that I’ve been wanting to make into a quilt and I’m afraid white batting would peek through.
Beautiful fabric and great news about the black batting
I would love to go to quilt market sometime….
Beautiful fabrics – THANKS for the chance to win some!!!
Beautiful!
I always love seeing the new fabrics and different things in market posts. I saw those cross stitch things on another blog and thought they are the cutest things. Just right for my dd I think. She likes working with her hands and hasn’t tried cross stitch yet. Thanks for all the lovely photos and for the giveaway!
Wow…the colors of the shot cotton are so rich and bright. Love them!!
Wow the shot cottons are beautiful! Just yummy. Such rich colors!
Love all the gorgeous fabric, I really want to get started on some new projects.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas and fabrics! One of these years I will make it to a Quilt Market. I’m glad you take the time to offer us a peek.
i haven’t sewn garments in years, but those tops are so cute!! Thanks for the chance to win the lovely fabrics.
Those stacks of fabric are great! Thanks for a chance to win!
Love the shot cottons. I use Matilda’s own batting, it’s an Aussie brand and made here too. I love the cotton(60%)/wool(40%) blend, it’s light, warm and shows up quilting well. So glad I bought a big roll of it a couple of years ago. Enjoy your new pretty things- the bundles look great
I am always interested in adding pretty fabric to my stash 🙂
The fabric is so pretty and cant wait to hear about the tops they are cute.
Those solids would make an awesome modern quilt with a traditional twist!! I am also interested in double batting for a wall hanging to show off the quilting. Claudia Pfiel has done some beautiful smaller quilts using dupioni silk and they are beautiful.
Well, it looks like you had a successful Spring Market! I’m not ready for cross stitch to come back yet. I’m too busy making fun quilts. I used wool Hobbs once but didn’t like it. I always wash my quilts after the binding is on, and I completely forgot how wool shrinks. My quilt shrunk 7″ and didn’t quite cover the top of the bed like I wanted it to. Live and learn. I’m dying to use those beautiful shot cottons.
I absolutely love the Prairie fat quarters you picked up. I just may have to add that to my stash as well. Thanks for the viewing and the chance to win.
At first glance, I thought these rich in color shot cottons were wool and I wondered if you picked up wool appliqué. 😃 this spring quilt market appears to have been one of the nicer gatherings with lots of good fun and purchases. I’m glad you had a great time.
I Love the hobbs polydown for most of my quilts that are for everyday use.. I use thier 100 percent cotton for bags, tabletoppers, placemats and walhangings. Would love to win this give away and use it to make a quilt for the chemo unit where I am today. Thanks for your great entertainment today, your blog always brightens my day.
You really scored big in your fabric goodies!! I am drooling over Prairie!! I think I HAVE to have some😃
Love all of your fabric bundles, especially the shot cottons. Do you know why they’re called “shot cottons”? Whatever the meaning, they’re gorgeous!
I’ve been wanting to try Hobbs batting. I’ve just always used Warm & Natural (or white) because that was always readily available without having to order. I noticed awhile back that Joann now has Hobbs batting on the shelf so I’m trying it out for my next quilt. I LOVE all the fabrics you chose during your shopping spree — can’t wait to see what you create with them. I think that all of those are on my list to get. And lastly, the shot cottons are just gorgeous! I’d love a chance to win a bundle and create something beautiful. Have a wonderful time sewing!
My stash seriously lacks solids, so this would be a great addition for me. Love the bundles you picked up at market. I’m sure you will come up with some beautiful quilts using them!
I would love a chance to win some of the shot cottons, I thing machine quilting will really show nicely using them.
What beautiful fabric. Thanks for sharing your photos with us.
I was also getting a little tired of the pastels and I loved to see the bright mid-range to darker colors. It will be fun to see what you sew up with your fat quarters!
Thanks for sharing the new clothes patterns. I love to wear tunics.
Would LOVE to see those shot cottons in person. Thanks for sharing about Quilt Market!
Wow, what a beautiful collection of the rainbow! So many ideas running through my head, I could sure have fun with those. The tunic pattern is great having so many options. It’s a must buy for me. Thanks for sharing quilt market
Love the fabrics.
What a fun post!! I too am interested in sewing some tops again. And I love your choices from sample spree!,
thank you for the chance to win that beautiful shot cotton! I was just adding it to my list of fabrics and then saw your give-away offer. I’m always in awe of people who can make clothes – those are great tops. Love your selection of fabrics from Sample Spree.
I have never sewn with shot cottons before. They are so beautiful! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
The shot cottons are just beautiful! I could certainly find something to make with those. I enjoy your blog very much and since I sewed clothing for myself years ago, I find it interesting that you are now doing that too. I’m waiting to hear more about the fabrics you are using.
You can never have enough fabric…especially the beautiful ones that you chose!
Love the fabric and your blog!! Thank you for the chance to win! DiAnn
Love that stack of fabric. I might just have to look at it for a while before I decide what to do with it.
Going to check out Hawthorne Threads. I love what I see!!
Beautiful! Like going to market without going to market. 🙂
Love those saturated shot cottons, and all the bundles are so tantalizing. Can’t wait until they hit the shops for us to get our hands on them too.
Awesome colors in the shot cottons! Just beautiful!
Beautiful! I would love to work with these fabrics.
Thanks so much for sharing the the new shot cottons. Love them!!
Would LOVE a Shot at winning !!
The shot cottons are so pretty. Thank you for the chance to win.
Hi! I always so enjoy your posts, and your patterns! I make a lot of samples for the quilt shop i work part time at from your books. Am anxiously awaiting your new Angles with Ease 2 book to arrive at the shop! You mentioned about battings–I really really recommend Dream Cotton Select. It also comes in a thinner version called Request. which is nice for summer quilts. They also have a Dream Orient, that is just luscious, and their wool batting is GREAT. It also shows the quilting very nicely. They do have a blend and a poly also. But, time after time, for my quilts, i use Dream Cotton Select! I do some machine quilting for customers and am always amazed by the different battings. i think if you give them a try, you will be hooked! Your little guys are just precious. We have two little grandsons that are soon to be 6, and soon to be 4. Little boys are just the best. We have learned so much about Ninjas, Avengers, and the new Legos! The fabrics you showed from market are WONDERFUL!Shannon Slagle

The shot cotton fabrics are gorgeous. I can definitely see using them with a black background.
I love the shot cottons. Would love to have them.
I like Hobbs 80/20 too. It’s a nice batting, easily available, and cheap at my local Michaels for a bargain price with a coupon. I have never tried shot cottons though — they look very appealing!
I love using the 80/20 batting for most of my projects. Would love to try the shot cottons! You’re blog is great
It’s great to see some garment patterns being shared by quilt designers like you! I sewed nothing but garments for a couple decades, have been purising pattern books lately, but would like to find a good place to buy nice quality fabric. I’ll take a look at the site you mentioned. Would love to win the fabric bundle too.
I would love to shop in your stash! I very much appreciate your tips and sense of design.
My long arm quilter used black batting in the “Star Wars” quilt I made for my son. Being new to quilting, I had never heard of it but it worked great. Thanks for the chance to win the bundle:)
What a rainbow of awesomeness (is that even a word?), I’d love to try some in the baby quilts I’m working on. Thanks for the views from qm.
Thank you so much for sharing your favorite finds from quilt market. I just love the colors in the bundles you bought and I’m looking forward to seeing what you create. The cross stitch bracelets would be fun to make. The comments about batting have been interesting & helpful. It’s amazing that you find time to do garment sewing and can’t wait to see more posts about that as well. And then the shot cottons….absolutely love the colors & textures. Oh what fun it would be to win!!
I love solids with texture and would love to win your give-away! I appreciate your letting us know what is coming out in the next 6 months. I have just gotten back into garment sewing a little and will check out the sources you mentioned for rayon fabric. Thanks so much!
If you ever get the chance try Hobbs silk batt, makes a quilt so soft, but warm as well. What a great hall from sample spree, love the shot cottons, great colours.Thanks.
I just recently learned what shot cotton is. The colors in the bundle are wonderful. It would be fun to check them out. I am envious of your new bundles and can’t wait to see what you make. Thanks for sharing. It’s a nice bit of inspiration to start the day!
Lovely, need that.

These are gorgeous colors! My stash of solids is sadly underrepresented. :0)
So generous! Thanks so much for this giveaway and for your lovely quilt market photos, I’m very jealous! x
What fabulous colors! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Love the shot cottons! For batting, I usually use Warm and Natural or Warm and White, but I’ve also used Hobbes 80/20. I really like quilting on the bamboo batting too, but have only used it a few times.
Wool batting is my new favorite. It doesn’t crease like cotton, which is a big plus for me. Love all the fabrics you purchased!
Oh my!! All those bundles are to die for! I love the Prairie, too, but also Farmhouse by Fig Tree. Oh, to own them all.
Wow, would I like to go to Quilt Market and see all the beautiful fabric!!
Love your fat quarter bundles, such yummy colors. Wool batting is wonderful for quilting!
How nice of both of you to offer this chance to win those lucious fabrics!! My other fabrics would love some company! Also thanks for sharing all the info from market.

Love your emails…..keep them coming even though I know you are swamped with two toddler boys.
