Happy Tuesday! Today I get to preview a new booklet that I’ve been working on for the past year. It all began with my love of sampler quilts.
My first quilt was a sampler, and I have loved them ever since. I also love flowers so it was natural for me to combine them both to make the cover quilt for this booklet. I ended up making the sampler in 2 sizes for the book, so you have two options. When I finished the samplers, I could envision the blocks from the sampler in their own quilts and the result is 5 bonus projects. In today’s post, I’m going to show you the samplers. In my next post, I will show you the remaining projects.
Here is the cover:
This sampler is made with my Wildflower Boutique fabric line. It has just hit stores in the last two weeks, so I wanted to time the release of this book with the fabric. It’s been a while since I have made a special project with my own fabric, so this quilt fits the bill!
Here are some close-ups of the blocks and fabrics:
The quilt is made up of 8 different blocks. To make this large size sampler, you make each of them 4 times and sew them into four quadrants.
To make the small sampler, you make each of those blocks just once. I have two versions of the small sampler in the book. The first one is also made with my Wildflower Boutique fabric, but this time with a light background instead of the grey.
You can find kits for both of these on my website here.
The other version that I made uses the Sew Retro fabric line by Sarah Davies, also for Riley Blake Designs. I just love the outer border fabric from this fun line!
And a few more close-ups for you:
If you are interested in getting a copy of the book, I will draw a name from the people commenting on this post! I will announce the winner in my next post.
This sampler can be used as a Block of the Month, so if you are interested in joining a block of the month, you can contact these shops. The book just came out, so I will be adding to this list as I find out others that are offering it.
