I have a tradition of giving Christmas ornaments to my boys, nieces, and nephews.  This year, I designed two special ornaments for my boys made of wool felt.  They were fun, easy to make, and make the perfect take-along projec.

This pattern features 2 different star blocks that use the same construction, but look different based on fabric placement.  Both are strip pieced and use the Creative Grids 60-degree triangle ruler.  5 size options are included in the pattern:  Runner: 14″ x 48″, Wall (or topper or tree skirt) 49″ x 55″, Throw:  49″ x 71″, Double:  77″ x 87″ and King:  105″ x 103″

This pattern was inspired by my love of English Paper Piecing – Though I don’t actually like to do EPP, I think the quilts made with this technique are beautiful!  This thought inspired me to use machine pieceing techniques to create a quilt that looks like it is hand sewn.  Strip piecing and folded corners are used to create the flowers in this quilt.  The leaf units are created using the Creative Grids 60-degree triangle ruler, one of my favorites.

    I don’t know too much about blogs, but somehow drifted upon yours and am ignited with inspiration!!! First, where do you find the pattern for Autumn Days? Second, I love the knitted hats and even though I haven’t knitted in 30 yrs., I would love to make one for my niece and where would I find that pattern?     Would like to know how I can get the pattern Love Blooms Log Cabin quilt pattern. In the January 2010 “The Quilter” magazine on the “Photo Finish” page is a Cabin of Flowers pieced by Marilyn York a modified version of the Love Blooms pattern. Have done research and cannot find either pattern or how to contact Marilyn. Have the fabric for the Love Blooms but cannot find the pattern.
