Peach Beehives

DSC_2162So remember when I was going to start blogging some of my favorite recipes?   Yeah.   I think it’s only happened twice   – and so far it’s been mostly desserts!  Today I have yet another favorite dessert to share.  It’s perfect for this time of year, because the good peaches are in the grocery stores right now.  This recipe is quick and very easy.  It has a killer sauce that is just heaven on a plate.   (Can you tell that I am hungry while I am writing this?)

You start by washing and drying your peaches, then rolling out your pie crust.

I use store-bought pie crust – Pappy’s is my favorite.  Then you wrap the peach in pie crust strips to resemble a bee hive.

Roll is sugar and bake in a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes.

After the bee hive cools a bit, cover with the sauce and serve with vanilla ice cream.

That’s all there is to it!

For the rest of you – the fabric is available here.

Many of you have been asking for some new Carter pictures.  So – twist my arm . . .  I also have a vest I just finished for him – Yes, I actually finished something.  It feels like I am hardly getting any knitting done, but this one was quick.

He is now 13 months.  These pictures make me happy and sad all at the same time.  I love that he is changing all the time – walking, saying new words, learning fun new things every day.  But my sappy little hearts says “Where did my baby go?”  I think he looks so grown up in this little outfit.  Can someone please pass the tissues?

I have already posted a few of the things I have made from this fabric.

I have one more that I haven’t shared yet.  I really wanted to make something to show off the panel print from the line. (Or in this case – have something made.  Thanks Mom!)

The panel is cut into squares, framed in cream and then framed again with assorted colors.

The original pattern is called Sweet Pea and looks like this:

I made another color option using one of my Christmas lines, “At Home for the Holidays”

Isn’t it fun to see how different they look?
